Tupac Shakur's handwritten lyrics are up for sale for $38,500.
The original lyric sheet to "Catchin' Feelings" from his 2002 Better Dayz album is up for grabs for $38,500, courtesy of the memorabilia company Moments in Time.
Gary Zimet, who owns MiT, says he obtained the lyrics from an ex-employee of the studio where
Tupac recorded the track in 1996 and wisely, he's been holding onto the framed piece until this month.
September 13 will mark the 20th anniversary of Tupac's death, so he's expecting collectors to open their wallets and own this piece of history.
Shakur was killed on Sept. 13, 1996 in a murder that remains unsolved.
Shakur was a Harlem native, raised by parents who were members of the Black Panther Party. Later his family moved to Baltimore, Maryland and Oakland, California where he got his break in the early 1990s as a member of the group Digital Underground. One of the best-selling solo rap artists, with iconic albums including his debut “2Pacalypse Now” and “Me Against the World,” Shakur also starred in movies including "Poetic Justice" with Janet Jackson and basketball drama "Above the Rim."
