MTN Apps Challenge first held in 2013 is a competition which seeks to empower local application developers and encourage applications with local contents. This has become the biggest platform for app developer to showcase what they have and win prizes accordingly. Wheelo, Gh Payroll, Donatio, Bluegate, Oware 3D are some app on the market and enjoying amazing downloads kind courtesy MTN APPs Challenge.
This year’s edition dubbed ‘Empowering the Youth in promoting Innovative Digital Projects’ was launched on Wednesday September 7th and invites Universities, Senior High Schools and freelancers to participate for a grand prize of GH¢250,000.00 in cash and other prize items . MTN Apps Challenge V4.0 aims at awarding the best IoT projects that addresses local problems and most innovative and locally-relevant Mobile Apps and Animated Videos.
HERE IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MTN APPs ACHALLENGE V4.0.
Entries will be accepted in the following categories:
1. Universities: Each University will submit at least one Internet of Things (IoT) Project
University may also submit one of more locally relevant Mobile Apps and Animated Video in addition to the IoT project.
2. Freelance: Participants will enter as an individual or team with IoT Project or Mobile Apps (Games, Business, Education, Health, Lifestyle, etc.) and Animated Video
3. Senior High School: Participating SHSs will enter as an institution with locally relevant Mobile Apps and Animated Video
Projects will be accepted in the following categories:
IoT Projects: IoT Projects will allow the use of Mobile Apps to monitor, control and interact with physical objects over the mobile telecom network (2G, 3G, 4G LTE) to address local problems (to create Smart Homes, Farms, and Cities and Intelligent transportation, etc.)
Mobile Apps: Participants will enter with Mobile Apps (Games & Entertainment, Business, Education, Health, lifestyle, Sports, etc.)
Animated Videos: Participants will enter with animated video of length between 30 seconds and 1 minute.
ELIGIBILITY: Participants can enter the competition with one or more projects.
Participants can enter as University, Senior High School or Freelance
Applications that won in the previous MTN Apps Challenge are eligible for re-entry with significant improvements.
Local apps that are present on Android and Apple stores are eligible to enter the competition.
