American rapper Desiigner was arrested and charged in relation to drug and gun charges in New York.
According to law enforcement officers, the driver of the SUV which Desiigner was traveling in was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle called 911 and alleged that Desiigner pointed a gun at him. Upon investigation, it was found that the
SUV contained a large quantity of loose pills and Oxycontin among other drugs.
As a result of the incident, the rapper and 4 others were charged criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell. In addition to those charges, Desiigner was charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon and threatening.
Desiigner has been making strides in the Hip-hop industry since he released his 'Panda' song which he followed up with 'Timmy Turner'. He was recently nominated for the Best New Artiste and Best Hip Hop Video at the 2016 VMAs.
