MUSICIANS AS PUBLIC FIGURES AND ROLE MODELS

Musicians are people that compose, records and release music often professionally through record labels or independently.
In that case, it is not every lyric that a musician is supposed to write and put in a song out there because not only adults or matured people listen to these songs. Kids also listen and even sing along to these songs whiles they are playing. An instance can be cited as shatta wale’s “wo maame tw3 and
kpuu kpaa” songs. What sense can one make of a song like that and even a mother or an elderly person hearing such a song being sang by a kid of about 4 to 5 years or even by their wards, we should bare in mind that spoken words are more effective in this our everyday lives.

Music in Ghana is not the same compared to the times of Amakye Dede, Dr Paa Bobo and the rest. Music from these people tells a story that is meaningful and advices also. If you find yourself in a situation where all hope is lost and you listen to these songs, it makes you know that it’s not the end of your life but now not all.
songs we here from most artiste makes us feel the same way just because we believe we are in the 21st century where everything is different compared to the olden days.
These musicians should also bare in mind that these kids look up to them as role models and no  matter what they do, they imitate them, be it their style of dressing, the type of hair cuts or braids, the words that come out their mouth or how they speak and even the tattoos they have on their bodies.

When a musician or anybody for that matter wants to be a role model to others, one they can look up to, he or she has to be a decent and responsible person so that even if someone wants to be like them, then at least it will create a good impact in their lives.

Musicians as role models are known to be public figures and anything they do or say has either a negative or positive impact on the lives of people or even their fans.
Therefore, musicians should be very careful of the kind of music they put out there, what they say and also what they do since they are who people look up to. They should leave an exemplary life that their followers can boast of.
