JACKIE APPIAH, EPITOME OF TRUE AFRICAN BEAUTY

The amazing and talented actress Jackie Appiah was born on December 5, 1983 to Mr Kwabena Appiah and she is the last of their five children. She lived in Canada in her childhood days till the age of ten (10) when she moved back to Ghana with her parents in 1993.
Jackie who was a runner up at the Talent Teens Competition started acting at the age of 12 in her local church group. Their performances depicted the Christian way of addressing and how to approach the general public. She made her debut in acting on the popular TV series, “Things We Do for Love”,
when she acted as Enyonam Blagogee. Not only were we impressed with her acting, we practically fell head over heels with her sweet and adorable character.

Jackie Appiah is the epitome of a true African Beauty. With that pretty face, and a cute dazzling dimple when she smiles, it’s no surprise she has been able to get such devoted fans supporting her good works. Following her onscreen debut, Jackie went on to create a successful acting career which included starring in the smash hit movie BeyoncĂ©, alongside prominent Ghanaian actor Van Vicker and actress Nadia Buari, which quickly made her establish herself as an A lister and she also casted a couple of notable Nollywood films which included Black soul and Bitter Blessing alongside Nollywood actor Ramsey Noah and My Last Wedding alongside Nollywood actor Emeka Ike.

Jackie Appiah got married to Peter Agyemang in the year 2005 and was addressed as Jackie Appiah Agyemang. Through their married life, the couple had a son called Damien. They are currently divorced and now she goes by her usual name again.
Jackie’s pretty face and amazing smile has graced many billboards and magazines here in Ghana. She won the face of UB (cosmetics) in a promotion she did for them on TV commercials. Jackie also added to her A list status as she has endorsed many products and was the spokes person for HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in Ghana. She has won numerous awards, including a prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for best supporting actress in 2007and 2010 respectively.

She also received two nominations for Best Actress in a leading role and Best Upcoming Actress at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2008. She then won the Best International Actress award at the Papyrus Magazine Screen Actors Awards (PAMSAA) 2013 which was held in Abuja, Nigeria. In that same year, she was awarded Best Actress in Drama for her award-winning performance in “The Perfect Picture” at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.

As part of giving back to the society, Jackie makes it possible to celebrate her birthday with the less privileged in society instead of having a private party in the comfort of her home and having friends come over. Jackie Appiah spends these special days with kids at various hospitals and orphanages.
Her management team brings together over sixty kids from the Teshie and Osu orphanages to a kids play house at Airport Residential area to celebrate her birthday with them. On behalf of Jackie Appiah Foundation, items including books, school bags and other educational materials, bags of rice, drinks, toiletries and cash are presented to the kids.

In her line of work, she has acted in movies like:
Against My Will
Pretty Queen

However Jackie Appiah hopes to study Entertainment Law or Media Law.
