Iconic Reggae artiste Peter Tosh is probably turning in his grave, as a pawn shop owner bought his 1988 Grammy award for $4,000 US.
According to Dylan McDermitt of LBC Pawn shop in Somerville, Massachusetts, about 5 months
ago, one of Tosh's family members came into his store seeking to cash in on the late singer's 1988 Grammy award and one of his acoustic guitars.
McDermitt explained that he immediately jumped at the opportunity and purchased the Grammy trophy for $4,000 and the guitar for $2k more.
He mentioned that the family member decided to sell the items due to an ongoing family battle over the late artiste's estate. It’s reported that at the time of Tosh's death, he did not have any will in place.
Peter Tosh's No Nuclear War (1987) album won the 1988 Grammy award for best Reggae album.
