The proud winner of Miss Ghana South Africa 2016 Michelle Danso says her family supported her during the contest.
In an interview with Stone, the host of 1000 Degrees on, she said “My family gave me support since day one when I decided to join Miss Ghana South Africa. I remember they will come watch me every time we were supposed to be on the platform to show case our talents. I am the very shy type so anytime I come out to perform and I see my family out there its build my confident level and it makes me do more than what is expected of me. So in all, my family played a major role in me winning the ultimate price by becoming Miss Ghana South Africa 2016”.
“I fell on the stage when my name was mentioned as the winner. I was really confused and didn’t know what to do till my family rushed to the front of the stage telling me to get up for am the winner. I didn’t believe I could win the crown but I did. It was an emotional and funny mixed feeling. ”
She later took the opportunity to advise the ladies out there that anybody can contest in such pageants. Even if you are the very shy type, you can make it. Though you might not win the ultimate prize; At least you can build up your self esteem and self confident at the end of the day.
Michelle is embarking on the believe in your dark skin campaign which is to encourage ladies to be proud of their skin color and not to bleach. She noted that skin bleaching is on the high rise these days. Most people only see the bright side of bleaching which is short-lived but the repercussions are grievous.
The beauty Queen will be in Ghana for a few weeks before going back to her base in The Republic Of South Africa.
