The Creative Arts Director of Bullhaus entertainment and the former manager of Shatta Wale, Bulldog, says Afro beat is the next thing to take Ghana higher after Reggae Dancehall has paved the way in terms of international recognition.
Speaking to Stone on the 1000 degrees show on TV7, Bulldog stated that even though they did not get the nominations, is a good plus for the Ghanaian music industry and the reggae dancehall fraternity. “Even though Stonebwoy and black Prophet did not get nominated, I think it’s a very good thing for
Ghana. Before you get nominated for a Grammy, then you must be doing something big as a musician and your efforts are being recognized. When it comes to music in Ghana, dancehall and reggae music is picking up and is making Ghana go very far on the globe. He said.
Bulldog also mentioned afro beats as the next thing to take Ghana higher. “With the trend at which afro beats is catching the international eye, I think it’s the next big thing to get us there.”
Bull revealed Fancy Gadam to be his discovery of the year. Bulldog said “Fancy Gadem is a talent to be invested in. He was able to fill up the National Theatre and the Tamale sports stadium and with just that he has done enough. Most people said he could not do it and he proved them wrong. He is a case study that we need to watch out for him”.
He however did advise artists and their managers not to only do things for financial benefits but also work hard to get bigger and push themselves to win accolades for that are what they will be remembered for.
