It’s a matter of days before gospel genius Dr Tumi writes his name into history books as one of the first musicians to perform and fill up the 30 000 seater Amphitheatre of the Voortrekker Monument in the City of Tshwane.
Fans, followers and supporters of Dr Tumi will be treated to a special night under the stars on 1 September 2018 at the Gathering of Worshippers concert where he will dish his hottest and newest gospel tunes and records his next live album and DVD. It promises to be a night of sing-along praise
and worship.
In this second edition of the Gathering of Worshippers concept, Dr Tumi adds another feather in his cap after he managed to fill up the Ticketpro Dome venue in Johannesburg last year at the inaugural event.
Ahead of the Gathering of Worshippers 2018, Dr Tumi embarked on a talent search for backing vocalists that will help him deliver a memorable performance. The selected singers will make their debut on the night.
Tickets have been flying since the announcement of the Gathering of Worshippers with golden circle and VIP already sold out.
A delighted Dr Tumi comments: “This will be the biggest stage I have performed on yet. To say I’m excited and looking forward to it is putting it mildly. My band is ready, the new backing vocalists are in tune and they sound amazing and I can guarantee that it will be an unforgettable night for my fam. So come one, come all for what will be a spiritually uplifting encounter.”
Ashraff Paruk, Managing Executive for Vodacom, went on to say: “We’re excited to have been given the opportunity to connect South Africans to their passion for gospel music. Through our View+, always-on digital platform, we are able to place the experience, created by this much anticipated event, in the palms of our customers’ hands.”
